Lost--Again

I just realized that I am missing my copy of The Count of Monte Cristo--again. This is not due to my carelessness or indifference towards my books--but because I insist on sharing my books with people who forget to return them to me. I may have single-handedly made Karen Armstrong a best selling author, because I have purchased at least six copies of A History of God for myself--only the most recent one of which is in my possession. This does not include copies I bought with the intention of gifting to people.

I guess I have to stop by Barnes & Noble on the way home tomorrow.

I hear ya, I'm missing at least 20 books from my collection at the moment and I think I have about three copies of The Handmaiden's Tale and Book of the Skulls because the second I find out someone hasn't read one of them they immediately get a copy foisted on them.

I just want people to share the joy.

My other missing books are the result of naughty bad stealers. I'm not a lending library people!

Yep, when reading is a passion, you have to brace yourself for the fallout. I am also guilty of buying more copies of Kavalier and Klay than I would like to admit...

Just last night, I lent a book to my plumber...

Alex, you're onto something. Maybe I'll just start a library--goodness knows SD needs one. Btw--I haven't read Book of the Skulls, will I get a copy?

Boo, you're very generous. The only thing I give my plumber (a lovely man) is an angry look.
